Mr. Kershner started working with Trilinear as a consultant and as was made the Chief Technical Officer through Kershner & Associates, Inc. Mr Kershner was then made the President and Chief Operations Officer and provided direction to get their Drivers Data Logger product in a salable position. Managed programmers and engineers and worked on process flow documentation. Company was sold and moved to Saint Louis in October of 1999.

CEO/President/Chairman of the Board, 1993 – 2007
Served as a board member and executive committee member until December of 1998. Assumed the CEO/President/Chairman position during a bankruptcy reorganization and re-issuance of over $47,000,000 of municipal bonds. Guided the 32-acre non-profit full life community with 2 restaurants, skilled nursing, Alzheimer’s and dementia wings back to a solid position.

Re-engineering and expansion of cost control system that tracks contracts, change orders, budgets, commitments and payments for the Intel plant expansion project in Ireland. Generates management reports for tracking, accountability and billing purposes.

Designed to track the authorization and progress of materials and labor costs for facilities maintenance and expansion projects.

EMCS Energy Management System, 2003 – Present
Created VPN to work across the UNM campus LAN to encrypt and provide an open communications platform for the monitoring and controlling of HVAC equipment from a multitude of vendors. System is designed to allow for multiple protocols to be converted to BacNet and statistics captured. Eventual control of the systems tied to calendaring, lighting, security, weather, etc. will lead to considerable savings in energy as well as enhanced security. Designed and created Cold Fusion web based system for tracking all VPN related IP address in all buildings as well as pictures and plans to get to the network closets and mechanical closets. Assisted in bid analysis of vendors of the Front End web based system. Designed and implemented the server ‘farm’ with multiple SQL servers, Web Servers, Firewall/VPN/Routers as well as individual building Firewall/VPN/Routers.
Telecommunications Department, 2000 – 2003
Started documenting procedures and became interim IT department for UNM Telecommunications department. Handled all network functions related to a legacy system and assisted in preparations for moving to a new system. Work on general business process flow and procedure upgrades.

Created new module to the Accounts Payable system to allow the import of purchasing transactions from multiple third party applications used by different departments throughout the University of New Mexico.

Customization of SBT Accounts Payable System, 1989–2004
Customized and developed Accounts Payable System for Accounts Payable Services Department, covering payments for entire university campus, averaging 625 checks per day and over 200,000 transactions per month. Expanded and supported Accounts Payable System. Created Laser Checks printing program to enhance Accounts Payable System.

Manage converting a ‘employee created’ dbase II purchasing application to Foxpro and update the multi-user functionality. Manage the movement to new shared servers with the Accounts Payable department and develop methodology to share vendor files. Design methods to support new SBA requirements for reporting.

Cashiering Project, Project Management, Systems Design, 1994–1995
Took over existing project and managed to successful completion. The project entailed creating a full registration system with bi‑directional feeds from mainframe accounting systems. The system was written in Visual Basic with Access as the database. The database was later ported to Oracle due to record locking and speed considerations. When we were assigned to the project, it was assessed to be failing. At the end of the project, we received awards from other universities for the design and implementation.

Designed and created Branch Commission software to track all commissions state wide for checking accounts, savings accounts, and annuity sales. Used weighting factors to provide employee incentives in specific areas. Calculated employee of the month and other methods for motivational purposes.
